Position Overview
Cedar Hall Classical Academy (CHCA) in Bedford, Texas, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Pre-Algebra and Algebra I Teacher for spring semester of the 2024-2025 school year. This part-time position involves teaching in-person classes on Monday and Wednesday for two hours each day.
Responsibilities:
Provide engaging and dynamic classroom instruction in Pre-Algebra and Algebra I.
Develop and implement lesson plans based on the pre-approved curriculum, with some flexibility to modify as needed.
Utilize selected texts: Principles of Mathematics 2 for Pre-Algebra, and Jacob's Elementary Algebra for Algebra I.
Foster an environment that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning.
Track and evaluate students' progress, providing regular feedback to both students and parents.
Communicate effectively with parents, primarily through the Band platform, to support student learning and address any concerns.
Participate in school duties such as homeroom, recess or lunch duty, dismissal duties, and special events.
Attend teacher onboarding, professional development sessions, and ongoing training in classical and Charlotte Mason traditions.
Maintain professional and diligent conduct, reflecting a love for Jesus and a commitment to the educational philosophy of CHCA.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated love for Jesus and a commitment to integrating faith into teaching.
Experience in a teaching environment, preferably with middle school and/or high school students.
Understanding of and passion for classical education and the Charlotte Mason approach.
Strong ability to engage and inspire students in learning math.
Excellent communication skills, with a collaborative mindset for working with parents and staff.
Ability to create a positive, encouraging, and structured classroom environment without relying on punitive or performance-based reward systems.
Hours:
Instructional hours are Monday and Wednesday: 8:35 AM - 10:30 AM
School hours are Monday and Wednesday: 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM
