Overview:
Cedar Hall Classical Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a third grade teacher. In this role, you will play a vital role in partnering with families to provide a classical, Charlotte Mason education experience rooted in Christian values to some of our lower school students.
Responsibilities:
Classroom Instruction: Provide engaging and dynamic classroom instruction, fostering an environment that promotes critical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning.
Curriculum Implementation: Implement the selected classical, Charlotte Mason curriculum with fidelity, incorporating age-appropriate multi-week projects to enhance learning experiences.
Student Assessment: Conduct narrative assessments four times per school year, focusing on character development, class participation, and academic progress.
Parental Collaboration: Collaborate closely with parents to support them in their role as primary educators, providing guidance, resources, and encouragement for at-home learning days.
Community Building: Actively contribute to building a vibrant academic and faith community, participating in events such living history events, field trips, and student showcases.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development provided by CHCA to enhance teaching skills and stay abreast of best practices in classical education and Christian pedagogy.
Qualifications:
A demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Cedar Hall Classical Academy, including a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Experience in either formal teaching or homeschool education, with a passion for working collaboratively with parents and students.
Knowledge of classical education principles and familiarity with the Charlotte Mason philosophy preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment, with a willingness to embrace a Christ-centered, collaborative teaching model.
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred, though not required.

We operate on a restful Sabbath schedule, meaning approximately six weeks on, one week off.
Compensation and Benefits
$500 per month (Mondays only, 7:30-3:40)
Expected hours: 8-9 per week
